Bonnie and I drove to Iowa City on Tuesday. In places the fog prevented us from seeing the landscape, especially west of the Mississippi. Before we got to the river, however, we saw that some farmland was under water. This reflection in a pond was about ten or fifteen miles east of the river.Our sunny drive back on Wednesday revealed how heavy the rains of the past week have been. We saw flooded fields across the whole state.
