If you have time when you are in Pittsburgh, you should tour the International Rooms in the Cathedral of Learning at the University of Pittsburgh. The rooms, many decorated in the 1930s, are used as classrooms but are open for visitor seven days a week when not in use. You may get a key and an audiotour at the shop on the first floor. I particularly like looking at the small details, like this detail from the room decorated by Japan.
I am a reference librarian at the Thomas Ford Memorial Library who graduated from the University of Texas at Austin. I have worked in public libraries in Texas, Missouri, and Illinois. I am interested in promoting reference services and the reading of good books.
