This is Frederic G. Eustis, the president of Eustis Enterprises Inc., one of the small booth exhibitors at ALA in Chicago, demonstrating how strong his chairs are. When I noticed him, he was bouncing on the legs, telling a librarian about his chairs. He really believes in them. He told me later that he has slipped and slightly injured himself doing these demonstrations, but the chairs do not break. I hope we can discourage people from doing this in our libraries.
I am a reference librarian at the Thomas Ford Memorial Library who graduated from the University of Texas at Austin. I have worked in public libraries in Texas, Missouri, and Illinois. I am interested in promoting reference services and the reading of good books.
